Monkey-ing around Bristol

Ok, so first proper post of something (hopefully) interesting.
I am on holiday this week, I have v little money to my name and the missus is working. What is a boy to do?

Well, this week marked the 175th birthday of Bristol Zoo, and to mark the occasion they have placed 60 lifesize statues of Gorilla's around the City. This first came to my attention when one of the said statues, Goram, was placed in Bristol Temple Meads Station where I work.

A few days later, maps of the city showing all 60 locations were printed up. So, on Monday, with my map, bus card and camera, off I went on a Gorilla hunt. I managed to track down 41 of the 60. A journey that took me to avonmouth, Clifton, Hotwells, City Centre, back up to Clifton and back to the centre.
I must of walked a half marathon if not more, and was very footsore by end, but worth it. I can envisage this being a popular activity for kids during summer holiday's, fun and economically friendly.

Just a small selection of pics.

So, here I am, Blogging

I have toyed with the idea of starting a Blog for some time now, and finally here it is. I guess what was stopping me before was the fact I wasnt sure how to set one up, and also I guess I wondered if anyone would want to read it. I have come to a conclusion that, well, if nobody reads it, it's still a form of journal and a way to capture my thoughts/views/memorys for myself, if no-one else.

So, I have filled in my profile details for you to find out a few basics about me, and I guess you will learn more about me with each passing Blog.

I hope you enjoy reading it
